One Direction Celebrate Eight-Year Anniversary on Twitter, Niall, Louis, Harry & Liam Thank Fans

Less than 24 hours after the likes of ex-band members Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne took to Twitter to celebrate the 8th anniversary of One Direction’s inception, fans had the shock of their lives when news surfaced that a possible reunion may be on the cards.

When keen-eyed fans spotted a Ticketmaster listing online just yesterday for a One Direction show scheduled to take place at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium in Australia on December 31, 2020, there was no silencing the speculation and excitement that followed.

It has been two hard years since the news broke that One Direction were going their separate ways.

And while the lads have all done so well on their own – I miss them more than anything.

Full disclosure before I continue: I am a die hard Directioner. Always will be.

Anyway, a number of fans lost their SHIT earlier today, and for good reason.

Ticketmaster Australia appeared to begin sales for a One Direction reunion concert at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium on 31st December 2020.

However the event was very quickly removed.

With theories surfacing left, right and centre and One Directioners clearing their 2020 New Year’s Eve schedules as they confirm they’re prepared to head down under to see the band’s reunion, we can’t help but question the authenticity of the Ticketmaster listing given that Zayn Malik has repeatedly confirmed that he is still not on talking terms with his former band members, that Harry Styles and Niall Horan have become successful solo artists and both Tomlinson and Payne have children.

In saying that, could a reunion of only half of the band be a possibility? Maybe, given that Tomlinson, Horan and Payne seem to still have fond memories of their time on tour, as the three of the five former band members shared anniversary tweets marking eight years since One Direction was formed on The X Factor UK.
