An Under construction building collapsed in Gaziabad

At least four people have been injured after a five-storey building collapsed near Missal Gadi in Akash Nagar area on Sunday afternoon. the building that collapsed was an under-construction building. Initial reports inform that several labourers have been feared dead.

An under-construction building collapsed in Dasna area of Ghaziabad on Sunday afternoon. Five labourers have been rescued safely while eight people are still trapped, a police official said.

According to locals, construction was going on to build a five-storey residential building, when the scaffolding and iron girders of the structure gave way taking down all the workers on that floor. A private contractor was involved in the construction of building that was located on free hold land.

A team of NDRF reached at the spot and initiated a rescue operation.

A PCR call was received at around 2 p.m. regarding an under-construction building located beneath Dasna railway flyover has been collapsed.

The Police, fire department and NDRF team have been pressed into service. More details awaited. The incident comes days after nine people lost their lives in a building collapse in Greater Noida’s Shah Beri village, adjoining Ghaziabad.

Earlier this week, the twin building collapse in Shahberi village, Greater Noida, on Friday claimed lives of 9 people. After 65 hours of searching for victims, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) wrapped up its rescue operations at the site in Greater Noida. No new bodies were found in the debris keeping the death toll to nine.
