Huawei trolled Apple by Giving Free Power Banks to People Standing in Queue to Buy iPhones

Huawei pulled a fast one over Apple when the company started giving out free power banks to people lined up to purchase a new iPhone in Singapore.

The event took place on the eve of Sept. 20 at Apple’s flagship Orchard Road store, the night before it opened its doors to customers. A long line of fans had camped outside the Apple store for a chance to be among the first to get one of the latest iPhones.

As people waited in line, Huawei representatives started giving out over 200 10,000-milliampere power banks for free. If that wasn’t cheeky enough, the Chinese phone maker also added a custom message on the free powerbanks’ packaging, which read, “Here’s a power bank. You’ll need it. Courtesy of Huawei.”

the new iPhone XS and XS Max come with 2,658mAh and 3,174mAh batteries respectively, the Huawei flagship smartphones offer 4,000mAh battery. With the upcoming Mate 20 devices, Huawei is also rumored to add 40W wired fast charging and 15W wireless fast charging support. Huawei will be launching the next-gen Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones with triple rear cameras on October 16th. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for more details!
