New Education Policy Draft: A ‘5+3+3+4’ System, 4 Yrs of Undergrad

The draft National Education Policy 2019 (NEP), which has now been transferred on HRD Ministry site, conceives a “5+3+3+4” arrangement of instruction, rather than the conventional 10+2 framework.New Education Policy Draft: A ‘5+3+3+4’ System, 4 Yrs of Undergrad.

Under the new framework, involving school and pre-school training, the initial five years would be the essential stage (three years of pre-elementary school, trailed by evaluations 1 and 2), after which would come the preliminary stage (grades 3, 4 and 5), the center stage (grades 6, 7 and 8) and afterward the optional stage (grades 9, 10, 11 and 12).

“Every time of the Secondary Stage will be isolated into 2 semesters, for a sum of 8 semesters. Every understudy would take 5 to 6 subjects every semester. There will be some basic normal subjects for all, while at the same time there will be an incredible adaptability in choosing elective courses (incorporating into expressions of the human experience, professional subjects, and physical training) with the goal that all understudies can grow their points of view as they see fit and investigate their individual advantages and gifts,” the strategy draft states.

“”An arrangement of particular Board Examinations – rebuilt to test just center ideas, standards, basic reasoning, and other higher-request aptitudes in each subject – will bind the normal courses, while incredible adaptability will be offered for residual courses. The thoughts of “higher optional” or “junior school” will be disposed of; Grades 11 and 12 will be viewed as an essential piece of the auxiliary stage.”” – Draft National Education Policy 2019
