Modi has been conferred with the Maldives’ highest honour. On his first abroad visit in the wake of holding the post of Prime Minister, PM Modi landed in Maldives on Saturday, 8 June, where during the PM’s visit, Maldives and India are probably going to consent to arrangements identified with traditions, White Shipping Agreement (WSA) and preparing of government workers among others. Modi has been met with the Maldives’ most noteworthy respect “Standard of Nishan Izzuddeen” by President Ibrahim Solih. PM Modi had before visited Maldives to go to the swearing-in of Maldives President Ibrahim Solih in Male in 2018.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said the decision of visiting Maldives and Sri Lanka underlined the administration’s proceeded with accentuation on the area first approach. Modi has been conferred with the Maldives’ highest honour.
PM Modi will likewise visit Sri Lanka on Sunday, with a solid message of solidarity. This is Modi’s first abroad visit after the re-appointment .The selection of countries underlines India’s neighborhood-first arrangement
PM Modi has presented the Maldives President with a cricket bat signed by Team India. Modi said India will help promote cricket in the Maldives and fulfil President Solih’s mission to develop the sport in the country to consolidate people-to-people relations.
