: In a tragic and horrific incident, a 31-year-old man, who was reportedly in an inebriated state, threw his six-year-old son into a canal in south-east Delhi on Saturday, in a fit of rage. As per the initial probe by the police, the man had gotten enraged after his son insisted on eating momos and thus threw him down the canal. The Delhi police recovered six-year-old Ayaan’s body from the canal on Sunday afternoon.
The police got a distress call on Saturday night regarding a man who had thrown a child in the canal from Khadar Puliya. After initial investigation, it was found that Sanjay Alvi, resident of Bhangar Mohalla had allegedly thrown his own son, Ayaan in the canal
The father, identified as Sanjay Alwi, was arrested by the police on charges of attempt to murder on Saturday. However, following the discovery of his son’s body, he has now been booked for murder, police said.
