Manu Bhaker at Paris 2024 Olympics: Shooting schedule, events, dates and start time
Indian shooter Manu Bhaker will feature in her second Olympic Games at Paris 2024.
She made Olympic debut at Tokyo 2020 but it did not yield a medal after her pistol snagged during the 10m air pistol qualification. She fell short of the mark in the mixed team 10m pistol and 25m pistol events too.
At the Paris 2024 Olympics shooting competition, Manu Bhaker will compete in the women’s 10m air pistol, 10m air pistol mixed team and women’s 25m pistol events. She is the only athlete from the 21-member Indian shooting team to participate in multiple individual events.
She obtained a Paris 2024 Olympic quota for India after finishing fifth in the women’s 25m pistol event at the 2023 Asian Shooting Championships.
Manu Bhaker is the youngest Indian to win a gold medal at an ISSF World Cup. She is also a Commonwealth Games champion in the women’s 10m air pistol event from Gold Coast 2018, where she won top honours with a CWG record.
Manu Bhaker is also the first Indian shooter and first female athlete from the country to win a gold medal at the Youth Olympics from Buenos Aires 2018.
She clinched the women’s 25m team pistol title at the Asian Games last year.
Shooting events at the Paris 2024 Olympics will take place between July 26 and August 5. All competitions will be hosted at the National Shooting Center in Châteauroux.
