Hockey World Cup: India beat Argentina 5-0 in warm-up

Indian hockey group prepared for the men’s World Cup with a 5-0 whipping of reigning Olympic bosses Argentina in its initially warm-up match on Friday.

 

Harmanpreet Singh, Lalit Upadhyay, Dilpreet, Nilakanta Sharma and Hardik Singh were the scorers for the Indian group, while Argentina experienced a mental blackout.

The first and third objectives were punishment corner transformations, while the rest were field objectives.

“I think we played well in patches. I’m upbeat we scored objectives, the two PC objectives and the field objectives. Be that as it may, we broke the structure and Argentina took control which isn’t adequate however the young men have comprehended,” India mentor Harendra Singh said after the match.

The coach said Argentina is recovering from jetlag and remains a strong team.

“I think they still haven’t recovered from the long flight and we shouldn’t write them off.”

India will face Spain next in their second and last warm-up match on Sunday.
