In what is being known as a rare event of monks going rogue, the internet has gone into a frenzy after scores of Japanese monks are taking to Twitter to share videos of themselves skipping, juggling and playing games in their long robes with large sleeves.
The rare trend with the #I can do it in monk’s robe” on social media has gone viral after a police officer issued a driving ticket to a Fukui monk in Japan, for driving in his robe. The cop had assumed that due to the large volume of the garment, driving would be difficult for the monk and can prove to be dangerous.
Picking up after the incident which is now being known as a chain reaction, several Japanese monks have posted videos of themselves doing quirky physical activities in traditional robes, in protest. We have compiled a list of soe of the best.
Have a look.
