Sacred Games

Meet Sartaj Singh

The cop who is all sulking because his superiors at work suck—

Watch his life turn upside down when infamous gangster Gaitonde calls him out of the blue after years of exile to tell him that Mumbai would burn to ashes in 25 days.

.

.

.

But doesn’t tell him exactly what would happen.

Expecting him to figure it out on his own even though he hasn’t solved a big case in his entire career.

Only because his dad served Gaitonde good food in prison?

.

.

.

Really?

That’s actually irresponsible for a guy who loves Mumbai with his life you know. This city deserves a better class of criminals.

Meet Ganesh Gaitonde

Who is Faisal from Gangs of Wasseypur… only dressed up in saffron.

Watch his rise to power from an underdog to a fierce Gang lord—

Because he once saw a panther in the eyes and didn’t feel afraid—

And he loved a woman who was his lucky charm… who… WASN’T EVEN A WOMAN???

I mean I suspected that…

There was this hint of a moustache…

And then there were those…

And then she…

Or should I say he?

.

.

.

Well let’s move ahead to Anjali

She’s a strong-headed RAW agent who is bored of her desk job and wants some field work.

.

.

.

And that’s pretty much it.

Meet all these secondary characters which make the show truly awesome with their brilliant acting, like—

Constable Katekar

Who probably acted the best in the cast. Even surpassing Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

Just look out for the scene where he interrogates a guy.

Parulkar

Who kinda looks like Ravish Kumar with a moustache.

.

.

.

Yes. Try unseeing that.

Malcom

Who is gonna do the next commercial for Fair & Lovely.

And

Zoya Mirza

Who is just…

She’s just…

.

.

.

Wow.

Elnaaz Norouzi is the next best Iranian import to India after oil.

Watch the brilliant crime drama from the guys who brought you this cult classic—

(Gangs of Wasseypur)

And this cult classic—

Based on a novel of the same name for which the author was paid $1 million.

A detail which has been recently edited out of Vikram Chandra’s Wikipedia page, but still appears in articles about the book at the time of its release—

Source: You may get lost in the details of ‘Sacred Games’

Vikram Chandra was paid that amount in advance?

Like seriously?

In India?

Just the other day a publisher was asking me to instead pay 2 lakhs to them to get the hard copy of my novel out.

That is so unfair.

Jeez!

Watch the show which really has surpassed anything that Indian audiences have seen before.

With stellar performance by all the cast members.

Great script.

Cool cinematography.

And insane amount of profanity to get even the street guys going gaga over it.

But that’s not it.

Sacred Games has ticked off every checkbox to appeal to the western critics, like—

  • Showing the poor side of India—
  • Showing men in hills of garbage—
  • Showing men in burning hills of garbage—
  • Showing men going to business… Indian style.
  • And… of course, the slums of Mumbai.
  • I think people in the west should really like the show, you know…

But that’s not it—

This one shot was enough to appeal to the Indian critics. A fictional Hindu gangster talking about killing Muslims while being smeared in saffron in a fictional series—

Which even made them forget that Gaitonde said this about Rajiv Gandhi—

Is anyone else excited for the mudslinging that’s about to start as the 2019 elections draw close?

I’m grabbing my popcorn already.

Starring—

Cool intro sequence—

Jaime Lannister déjà vu—

The third gender—

Not Nora Fatehi—

Not Quica from Narcos—

Not Poison from Narcos—

Not Carrilo from Narcos—

And… BC translated to MC in English subtitles.

Damn! They changed the meaning of the National Swear Word of India.

.

.

.

That calls for protests you know.

Gangs of Wasseypur 3
