Muslim man from dadri area arrested for posting morphed Baba Ramdev’s photo in whatsapp group

A 40-year-old muslim man was arrested by the Noida police on Saturday for posting yoga guru Ramdev’s morphed photograph in a WhatsApp group on the International Yoga Day.

A press release by Noida Police said, “We’ve arrested Rahisuddin, son of Murad Ali, from Dadri area for posting a morphed photo of Baba Ramdevin a WhatsApp group. The investigation is underway.”

According to reports, Rahisuddin had posted an objectionable photo of the founder of Patanjali in a WhatsApp group called Jai Hind. “Some group members objected to the photo as it was objectionable. A case under IT act was registered against the accused. A police team on Saturday arrested him from his house,” Nishank Sharma, Dadri circle officer was quoted as saying.
In the morphed photo, reported Times of India, Ramdev was seen surrounded by a group of men and lifting his leg which appeared objectionable.

Patanjali’s Managing Director a close confidante of Ramdev, Balkrishna, took to Twitter to thank the Noida Police. He wrote in Hindi, “I thank Noida police for swift action against the man with retarded mindset to defame Baba Ramdev in objectionable photo.” The screenshot of his tweet was shared by the Noida Police in a WhatsApp group consisting of journalists and local police officers.

The Noida Police too responded thanking Balkrishna adding that it appreciated his ‘positive feedback.’ Its tweet read, “Thanks, We appreciate your positive feedback.”

Rahisuddin reportedly told the cops that he had forwarded the message received from a friend. The accused was produced in a local court and sent to judicial custody.
